Haute couture refers to custom-made, one-of-a-kind garments created for one individual. Couture fashions involve incredible detail to cut, construction - much of which is done by hand. Such unique fashions command high prices. Haute couture designs for the House of Chanel are presented through the company's premiere boutique located at 31 Rue Cambon in Paris. Today, over 160 Chanel boutiques are in operation around the globe. This magnificent creation is from the House of Chanel, founded by Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel in 1909. Today, the House of Chanel has as it principle designer, Karl Lagerfeld who continues the Chanel House’s fame for beautifully designed women’s suits. This suit is constructed of an ivory cream wool boucle over which is place a cream lace woven with a delicate pattern of clovers atop a narrow diamond plaid worked in charcoal gray silk.
